Five Ways to Practice Self Care 

Número Uno:  Make time for you, Comadre! This is critical, as Latinas I believe we've been taught that we should put our children, husbands, even parents first, pero honestly if you are not putting yourself first then you are probably feeling stressed, tired, overworked and UNAPPRECIATED!  So MUJER, get your me time in, whether you take a moment to meditate, journal, exercise or just do an activity you love.  Appreciate yourself and put it on your calendar! 

Número Dos: Start your Day with some Affirmations! Don't wait for anyone to LOVE on you, You LOVE on Yourself!

Affirmations to inspire you:

  • Me merezco everything that I have!
  • I am capaz, I am loveable, Soy suficiente!
  • I chose to be feliz and to love myself today! 
  • Today will be an amazing day! 

Numero Tres: Journal, I love to write at the end of the day, right before going to bed. It gives me a moment to reflect, appreciate and unwind after a long day. 

Things to note:

  • Date (for when you go back and see how far we've come)
  • How did you feel throughout the day?
  • Top Favorite Moment.
  • One thing for which you are grateful.
  • Goals for tomorrow.

Número Cuatro: Wake up early! I know, I know, this might be hard for some of you, pero como decia tu Mama, "El que madruga, Dios lo ayuda!" Studies have actually shown that, waking up early can increase your positivity and help you have a great day overall. 

Número Cinco: "Dime con quién andas y te diré quien eres!" Surround yourself with mujeres fuertes y poderosas, that elevate you and inspire you to be the best version of you!
